Big Changes Coming to Wake Forest North Carolina in 2025!
Wake Forest is absolutely BOOMING right now, and I can't keep up with all the questions I'm getting from clients about what's happening there. Every time I drive through showing homes, there's something new popping up! Today I want to give you the quick rundown on the exciting developments coming to Wake Forest that might just make you want to call this growing town home.
Downtown Train Station is Coming!
Y'all, Wake Forest is getting a train station! Construction has already started on this multi-story mobility hub that will include a café, rooftop terrace, retail spaces, and connect Wake Forest to Raleigh via the S-Line passenger rail. As someone who's suffered through that Capital Boulevard traffic more times than I can count, this is a game-changer! The goal is to have the rail service running by 2030.
UNC Health Rex Hospital Plans Approved
For years, I've had to tell clients they'd need to drive to Raleigh for hospital services, but that's changing soon! UNC Health Rex has officially filed plans to build a 50-bed hospital at the corner of Capital Boulevard and Stadium Drive. The hospital would create 500 jobs and include acute care beds, operating rooms, and expanded services. As Mayor Vivian Jones says, with Wake Forest growing so fast, this isn't a luxury – it's a necessity!
Costco is Eyeing Wake Forest
If you're a Costco fan like me (those $1.50 hot dogs, am I right?), you'll be thrilled to hear they're looking to open their fifth Triangle location in Wake Forest! The proposed site is at 400 Lowe's Avenue near the US-1 and Highway 98 interchange, right next to Lowe's Home Improvement. And yes, it'll have a gas station too!
Grove 98 Phase 2 Expansion
Grove 98 is expanding with Phase 2, adding 80,000 square feet of retail across from Wegmans, plus new apartments and townhomes. They've already announced tenants like O2 Fitness, Send Nail Spa, Vivo Med Spa, BB Bop Asian Grill, Piada Italian Street Food, Five Guys, and Dave's Hot Chicken. I've heard rumors that BurgerFi and Firebirds might be joining too! This is huge for locals who won't have to drive into Raleigh for shopping and dining anymore.
Downtown Food Hall Coming Soon
Downtown Wake Forest is getting its own 20,000-square-foot food hall with local vendors, plus a 3-acre green space for events and gatherings. As part of this project, they're building 110 Magnolia Trace Condominiums along North White Street, with units starting in the low $300,000s – perfect for downsizers or young professionals!
New Neighborhoods to Watch
There are so many new communities coming to Wake Forest! Kinsley subdivision offers homes starting in the mid-$300,000s. Rosecrest by Lennar has larger homes in the $400,000-$500,000 range. Holding Village features amenities like a 15-acre lake and trails. Forestville Station by Taylor Morrison opens in early 2025 with prices starting around $355,000.
One thing I've noticed is that most new communities have smaller footprints than what we saw a few years ago – this is happening all across the Triangle as builders try to meet the huge demand for housing.
What This Means For You
With all these exciting developments, Wake Forest is becoming an even more attractive place to live, work, and play. Yes, there are challenges that come with growth, and some of my clients wonder if the town can maintain its charm amid all this development. Personally, I think they're doing a good job balancing progress with preservation.
If you're considering a move to Wake Forest or anywhere in the Raleigh area, I'd love to help you find your perfect home! Give me a call or text at 555-123-4567, and we can chat about your needs.
Till next time, y'all! I'll see you later!
