I would love to chat and help Okay, let's just jump right on in we're gonna start with location Now Roseville is going to be located in the northeast part of Wake County and it's going to take you approximately a 25 to 30 minute drive to get either to downtown Raleigh or the Research Triangle Park area.
So it's still a fairly friendly commute, especially if you're used to driving 20 to 30 minutes to get to work. But if not, you will consider that a con. Now you have easy access to I 540 and also I 440, and you can get to the beaches within two to three hours or our majestic mountains within about four hours.
The next pro we have is affordability. Roseville has affordable homes with a family friendly environment. In mid 2023, the average median price for a single family resident home is approximately 560, 000. or you can get a townhome for about three hundred and fifty five thousand dollars. Our next pro is gonna be safety.
Safety is always a top priority for families and Roseville was ranked number one in safest places to live in 2022. And I'm happy to say in the surrounding suburbs of Raleigh, we had a total of four suburbs that ranked in the top 10 safest places to live, which included Cary, Holly Springs, and Fuquay Verena.
According to safe wise. com crime rates here are actually 48 percent lower than the national average, which makes it no surprise why many are considering Roseville home. Our next pro is going to be quality of life. Roseville has experienced quite a bit of growth in the last few years. And it prides itself on being a welcoming community.
Here you'll have access to quality healthcare like Wake MEd, Duke, and UNC. Roseville continues to work on creating a place where people can live, work, shop, and have fun without having to travel too far away from home. Our next pro is going to be the schools. According to niche. com, it gives school radiance here in Roseville an A Roseville is part of the Wake County Public School System, which has some of the best public schools in the county.
Roseville also has a charter school, Roseville Charter, and a private school, Roseville Charter. Bailey's Academy. And if you're seeking higher education, you'll have access to NC State, Duke University, and UNC Chapel Hill that are within a 30 to 40 minute drive. Along with Wake Tech Community College, Northern Campus, which is roughly about 10 ish minutes of a drive.
Our next pro is going to be outdoor spaces and fun parks. Roseville has some beautiful outdoor spaces. parks and greenway trails to explore including historic sites and even sunken treasure right on main street is main street park which is in the middle of downtown it has rentable shelters a gazebo an open play field playground and more than a mile of greenway trails Then there's Mill Bridge Nature Park, where you can go for a hike, and there's even a 200 seat amphitheater.
And the trails even connect with the Wake Forest Parks and Rett Greenways. One of our favorites is Fantasy Lake Adventure. There's a 50 acre area to be able to scuba dive. There's a sunken plane. There's a basketball hoop. And there's three deep holes that go as deep as you can. Far as 80 feet and now they actually have another section that has water activities for the family and you can paddleboard, you can kayak, you can swim, you can bounce and jump, and they even have sweet treats.
Our next one can be considered a pro or con. And that's gonna be the little downtown. Now it does have some charm to it, but there's not much of a downtown here. It is pretty small, but it has some really great places to eat. For breakfast, we love to go to Roseville Diner. If you go, try their biscuits and gravy, and say hey to Minnie for me.
If you like seafood, Off the Hook is delicious. I love me some good shrimp. Or if you're in the mood for good Mexican food, Check out Lustrous Migos, if I'm saying that right. There's also some really cute little shops there. I love Southern Charm. It's a cute little boutique that has a little bit of everything and a lot of unique gifts.
Definitely a place to go check out. And right next door is Little Missy. She makes handbags that are one of a kind to just a handful of a kind. And she makes homemade jewelry. She's just absolutely amazing artist. You want to check her out. And this town definitely knows how to have some great seasonal fun and bring the community together from 4th of July festivities to movie night series in the summer to the town parade at Christmas.
And in the fall they even do a fall fun fest with lots of crafts and art vendors. Moving to a con is going to be limited entertainment options. Now while there are some local places to eat and shop, there really aren't any major box chain stores or shopping malls. You're not going to find, say, Target, movie theater, or even a bowling alley.
However, in saying that, all of those things can be found within a 10 to 15 minute drive because Roseville is super close to Wake Forest and not too far from Raleigh as well. And in Wake Forest, like I said, you'll find Target, you'll find Publix, they have a really cute quaint downtown with some amazing restaurants.
And again, Raleigh's not too far away, and there's so many amenities in Raleigh. Now I will say, if you're looking for a vibrant nightlife, some exciting fun, you are not gonna find that in Roseville. When the sun goes down, it's pretty much a sleepy town. So again, if you are looking for that vibrant nightlife, you're going to have to head over to Raleigh or the Durham area.
But again, even there, it is not what you would typically expect. Say if you're coming from Las Vegas, or Hollywood in California or even New York. It's just a completely different vibe. But if you're looking for a tight knit community, a slower pace of life, then this is still a great place to consider living.
Our next con is going to be the limited job opportunities. Roseville is primarily a residential town, so a lot of people commute to nearby cities to work, which can be a con if you prefer to work close to home versus having to commute. Roseville has plenty of beautiful homes and open spaces with a blend of old meets new.
Roseville has so much to explore and experience, and is still a short drive away from Raleigh and all the amenities.
